So! This semester I'm taking a workshop course in poetry, so I'll be producing a new poem roughly once a week for the next few months. I've never tried my hand at poetry until now, and I'm still feeling my way around it, but - well, if I happen to produce anything that I'm pleased with, and if it gets reasonably good feedback, would anybody be interested in my posting it here? I'd like to have some new content to share every once in a while now that The Successors is done, and since I'll be writing these poems anyway, it just seemed convenient.

In unrelated news, I'm also starting to get serious about writing a novel. I credit :iconphasingirl: and her recently self-published fantasy novel Age of Valor: Heritage (which I'm currently enjoying very much) for inspiring me to scrape some old ideas together and actually get a book of my own under way. Obviously I'm still in the planning stages right now, but I hope to write the bulk of the first draft over the summer.

...and that's it for now. Be seeing you!

So! For those of you who have wondered what my voice sounds like, now you can find out. I make a brief appearance as Pokey Pierce in the most recent episode of D.E. Morris's Harbinger.

This won't be my last appearance either, so go ahead and subscribe to her YouTube channel for further updates!

In other news, grad school and work  are keeping me extremely busy, so the Successors epilogue will probably have to wait until winter break. Hopefully Harbinger will tide my loyal followers over until then!

Be seeing you.

Life Goes On

2 min read
So! Now that my summer break is drawing to a close, here are a few quick updates.

First, concerning The Successors. I had originally planned for there to be seventeen chapters; however, the penultimate chapter has grown too long and needs to be split into two. Along with the epilogue, this will bring the total to eighteen. I just wanted to allay any confusion that might happen when the next two chapters go up, since I’ve been saying “Only two more chapters!” for a while now. Chapters 16 and 17 won't be quite the last.

Second, concerning me. I start grad school in a couple of weeks (yay!), and I've already rented an apartment of my own, and I've been hired by the university as a teaching assistant. Which is all really, really good, though it's also a little intimidating, and handling all this sudden change is going to keep me on my toes for a while. There's a chance I might not be as active online as I have been in the past, but I assure you that I won't be going away entirely. Just don't expect any new stories anytime soon!

Well. That's everything, I think. Be seeing you!

I'm not sure if any of my precious few watchers will find this interesting, but my good friend :iconphasingirl: is in search of voice actors for her audiobook. Anyone who's interested, click the link below and send her what you've got!

So! I'm taking advantage of the whole "Free Premium Membership Day" thing to post a journal with a cool skin. But the timing works out well, since I've got a few updates worth mentioning.

First: I've been accepted by a grad school! For a degree in creative writing! Yay! This came as a really huge relief, since I've never applied to that kind of program before and had no idea what they might expect of me. But apparently they liked what I sent them, so I must have done something right. So that's good.

Second: The next Successors chapter is coming along slowly but surely, in spite of my busy schedule. By the look of it, I'll be finishing the story up over the summer. Since I now know I'll be going to school again in the fall (yay!) I can spend my time off a bit more freely than I thought I'd be able to. So that's good too.

Third: I've recently started reading C.S. Lewis's novel Till We Have Faces. Gosh, what a book. I'm only six chapters in and I can tell already it's going to become a favorite. Every sentence radiates genius. The characters are fascinating. The thematic tensions are endlessly compelling. I'd go into more detail, but I don't want this journal to be twenty pages long. Just read that book if ever you get chance.

...and that's about it, I think. Be seeing you!
